The Outer Banks has been a vacation destination for many years, but it has been in just the last decade that outstanding championship golf courses have emerged to make the Outerbanks an excellent golf destination as well. Golfers must learn to negotiate with nature to tame any of the Outer-banks courses. While the courses appear to be short on the scorecard, that is not the opinion of most golfers as they walk off the 18th green. Here you will find holes carved out of maritime forests and traversing over windswept sand dunes, leaving you to tame the ponds and streams that meander across each course. In the Outer Banks you will find outstanding golf throughout the year with excellent-conditioned courses enjoying the modifying effects the warm Gulf stream has on local weather. Now, the Outer Banks represents the perfect blending of golf and seaside vacationing. Look for the 18 under tour to VIEW-IT before you DO-IT ! when courses have been reviewed and photographed.

The Outerbanks of North Carolina are a string of barrier islands that stretch over 100 miles from the border with Virginia to Wilmington and the beginning of Myrtle Beach, SC. Jutting out from the main land mass of the eastern seaboard, the Outer Banks can suffer greatly from hurricanes, but is resilient. The towns that comprise the Outer Banks have romantic, mysterious, and historic names - Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Southern Shores, Corolla, Currituck, and Duck. Stories of ship wrecks and pirates abound, but more importantly this is where the Wright Brothers came to launch their first airplane and make aviation history. The Wright Brothers National Memorial attracts visitors from the world over and is a fitting tribute to their quest for flight.
