| Comments | This beautiful links-style course, designed by
J. Porter Gibson, has many trees scattered throughout the course that
alter shots, and a "few" ponds that come into play at least 10
times. The greens are well bunkered and elevated, and there are some sand
bunkers in the fairways. A challenging beautiful championship course with
rolling fairways that play through 430 acres of wooded home sites
and private lakes. The area's only island green, the par 3 13th hole,
alone makes it worth the drive.
A membership at the Links at Lakewood includes the rights to play Southern Links' two other golf courses: The Wellman Club, in Johnsonville, SC and the Sumter National Golf Club, also in Sumter.
