Comments

Lochmere Golf Club is the only course in the town of Cary, a burgeoning suburb of over 60,000, so it is a popular course.  Mature and tree-lined fairways are the norm, and if that is not enough for you to navigate, there are abundant bodies of water and bunkers to collect a wayward shot. This is a relatively short course, designed in 1985 by Gene Hamm that is very manageable if you can hit the ball straight.  Since being purchased by ClubCorp (owners of Pinehurst Resort, just one hour south), Lochmere Golf Club has seen significant upgrades.  A course that was formerly considered swampy even in the dry season, you can now drive your carts across fairways after normal rainfall without damaging the course.  New greens and general conditioning have changed many local's minds about this course. Lochmere's friendly staff enhance your experience on a golf course that provides a pastoral feel, even though it is surrounded by housing developments. Lochmere Golf Club provides a welcome respite from the rigors of city life.
