Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation Starts Business Network

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Savvy business folks in southeast Charlotte can jump start their new year with a great networking opportunity via Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation.

Marketing director Jessica Watts has launched the Olde Sycamore Business Network, which meets at lunchtime the first and third Thursdays of every month. Each meeting includes an educational speaker, as well as a “power networking” session.

“We have created a dynamic networking referral group,” says Watts. “It focuses on people who are trying to expand and grow their businesses, or find new clients, employees, leads, etc. We believe it is crucial to establish good relationships first. Then, the business tends to grow from there.”

In addition to the educational component of each meeting, there is also mentor-protégé program for startup businesses.

The group is aiming for a membership of about 30 members and will adopt a local charity. Steve Johnston with MetLife is president of the business network. Molly Collins of Prudential Carolinas Realty is vice president of membership and Watts is vice president of education.

Bi-monthly meetings are held at Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the membership fee is $200 per year.
