Staats Returns to General Manager Role at Olde Sycamore        

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Ted Staats, who has more than 20 years experience in golf management, has been named general manager of Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation.

Staats takes over the same role he held at Olde Sycamore from 2002-05, and is pleased to be back at the semi-private club, now managed by Signet Golf Associates of Pinehurst.
“I pursued this position aggressively. Olde Sycamore is a great place and Signet Golf Associates is highly respected in our industry,” said Staats. “This club has a tremendous amount of potential and I feel confident we will achieve high goals.”
In his career in the golf industry, Staats has served as a golf professional, general manager, private consultant and management trainer. He has been a Class A member of the PGA of America since 1986.

  Staats has been charged with improving operations at Olde Sycamore, increasing membership and enhancing customer service.
“This gives our firm the benefit of having someone on-site who understands member relations and how to create a first class experience for our members and guests,” said Peter Dejak, president of Signet Golf . “Ted had positive results at Olde Sycamore before leaving to pursue other opportunities and we feel he can duplicate that success in his current tenure.”
Staats is working with the new director of marketing & membership, Denise Mackey, to attract new members to the club, while offering a great experience for daily-fee golfers.
“We’re also open to the public and want them to feel like they are members for a day when they play here,” said Staats.
